See, I like to think of myself as Modern Holistic. Part health food blogger, part business-builder. A little spiritual woo-woo mixed with a no-nonsense corporate background. In my life, Meditation and Marketing go hand-in-hand. How did THAT happen?
THE CORPORATE GO-GETTER IN ME:

Well, not very long ago I had a killer job in finance and was living the crazy-fun lifestyle in San Francisco. But after more than a few years of 10-12 hour days and trying to keep up with my social calendar, I realized I wasn’t happy.

Something was missing and yet it would seem I had it all.

I got serious about eating real food (no more 100-calorie chips ahoy cookies), started exercising more and partying less. I felt better but still not my best. Then I found the love of my life and let me tell you, having another person to deal with after a long, hard day can teach you a lot about yourself.

I realized the real culprit holding me back from feeling my best at all times was STRESS. When I was stressed my nutrition was off, exercise was overlooked and my most important relationships suffered.

Stress can be defined as “bodily or mental tension resulting from factors that tend to alter an existent equilibrium.” or “the perception of a real or imagined threat to your body or your ego.”

I FIND THAT STRESS, REAL OR PERCEIVED, IS AT THE ROOT OF 90% OF PEOPLE’S DIS-EASE.

  • LACK OF ENERGY
  • SUGAR CRAVINGS
  • POOR SLEEP
  • WEIGHT GAIN
  • DIGESTIVE ISSUES
  • HORMONE IMBALANCE
Yep, all of these can be attributed to poor stress management and it certainly showed in my old life.

THE SPIRITUAL WOO-WOO SIDE OF ME:

I started incorporating more self-care like yoga, meditation, and scheduling alone time. Life seemed a heck of a lot easier, but the best part was that I gained clarity around my career path.

My job in finance paid well, I was good at it and I liked the people I worked with, but it was NOT fulfilling anymore. In fact, it was draining the life out of me. A couple of self-help books and a lot of soul searching later I discovered I had a passion for health and wellness. If I didn’t work in finance I’d be cooking healthy meals and studying nutrition books all day.

I had no idea how to make a living doing that, but guess what…the universe delivered! I randomly heard about this thing called a health coach. And even more there was a renowned school where I could get certified. A week later I was enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Now I’m a Certified Holistic Health Coach + Lifestyle Consultant showing modern women like you how to find optimum wellness through clean nutrition and a balanced state of mind. I run online nutrition programs, offer private coaching, mentor other wellness entrepreneurs and send tons of free recipes and lifestyle tips to my blog readers via my newsletter.
